Ted Kaptchuk
Ted Kaptchuk, author of The Web That Has No Weaver, has written over one hundred scientific and medical articles. He holds appointments in prominent universities and is active in both scholarly and scientific research. He has served on the National Advisory Council of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) at the National Institute of Health (NIH), and as an expert advisor for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), concerning acupuncture and placebo controls. Kaptchuk earned his doctorate in Oriental Medicine from the Macau Institute of Chinese Medicine in 1975.
Efrem Korngold, LAc, OMD and Harriet Beinfield LAc
Efrem Korngold, LAc, OMD and Harriet Beinfield, LAc are two of the foremost educators and practitioners in America, and co-authors of Between Heaven and Earth. In 1972, they began their studies at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in England. Korngold then studied herbology at the Kunming Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute and at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shu Guang Hospital. They are on the faculty of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Diplomates of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), teaching in both the USA and in Europe. Korngold has taught at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture and at San Francisco State University. They have lectured at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, Andrew Weil's Program in Integrative Medicine, Beth Israel Hospital in New York, and the Office of Alternative Medicine/NIH, while remaining actively engaged in the practice of acupuncture at their clinic in San Francisco, Chinese Medicine Works. Korngold is on the Advisory Board of the California Association of Naturopathic Physicians (CANP). Beinfield is on the Advisory Board of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) Education Grant to incorporate alternative modalities into the medical school curriculum at UCSF, Natural Health Magazine, and serves on the Editorial Board of Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, and Explore, The Journal of Science and Healing.
Steve Marsden LAc, DVM, ND
Dr. Steve Marsden holds a Master of Science and is Board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal modalities. He also holds a Doctorate in Naturopathic and Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Marsden is in demand worldwide as one of the foremost lecturers on alternative veterinary modalities. He lectures routinely at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as at most universities that train and license veterinarians to practice acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
He is the co-founder of one of the world’s only clinics licensed to treat both humans and animals. He is also the co-author of the bestseller, Manual of Natural Veterinary Medicine: Science and Tradition.
Jane Lyttleton
Jade Woman/Jade Man Herbals is a range of formulas that has been developed by Jane Lyttleton, Jane Lyttleton, BSc (Hons) (NZ), M Phil (UK), Dip TCM (Aus), Cert Acup/Herbal Med (China), internationally acclaimed author of The Treatment of Infertility with Chinese Medicine, published by Churchill Livingstone. This range represents a distillation of more than three decades of her experience working in supporting women's health using Chinese Herbology in a Western setting.
Jane Lyttleton left a career in science and medical research more than 30 years ago to pursue the study of Traditional Chinese Herbology. Since then, she has specialized in the application of Chinese Herbology to women's health in the context of western urban living. In the last two decades, she has particularly specialized in the treatment of infertility and has been fortunate enough to work in Chinese hospitals with well known infertility specialists in Guangzhou, Nanjing and Hangzhou.
In her clinic in Sydney she sees many clients who successfully combine what modern technological medicine has to offer with traditional Chinese Herbology in their quest to become pregnant. Thanks to a collaborative medical and academic environment, Jane has been able to share expertise and patient care with general practioners and specialists in the area of gynecology and infertility. She practices acupuncture and herbalology in a multidisciplinary group practice and is director of a series of acupuncture clinics dedicated to furthering appropriate integrated care and research for couples undergoing IVF.
Z'ev Rosenberg, LAc, OMD
Z'ev Rosenberg, LAc, OMD, Z'ev Rosenberg is part of the first generation of practitioners of Traditional Chinese Herbology in America. He is trained in both Chinese and Western herbology, having studied Chinese medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College, Santa Fe, and Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine, Santa Monica, and Western herbology at the Institute of Traditional Medicine, Santa Fe. Before opening his practice in acupuncture in 1983, he was a shiatsu therapist and macrobiotic counselor since 1975 in Denver Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was one of the initiators of an acupuncture licensing law in Colorado, spearheading a drive as President of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado from 1984 to 1988. He has been a Professor and Chair of the Department of Herbal Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego, for the past 25 years, and is former associate editor of Oriental Medicine magazine. He has lectured widely around the United States, and has written many articles published in all of the professional English-language journals of the TCM profession.
